Allow me to give a little back story on this piece.

I decided to take this back to the drawing board. At first, I planned to make a challenge with this piece. I wanted to see if I could finish it in 1-2 days. This would allow me to post new paintings more frequently in order to appease the social media algorithm Gods. After two days, I called it finished and posted it. After looking at it some more, I realized that I wished I had spent more time on it.

This was an important lesson for me. I felt ashamed of my work. After that, I realized that I'd rather allow each painting to take the full time it needs than to just rush it out for social media. I don't care if I lose money or if the algorithm Gods decide to cast me into the abyss. I'm done sacrificing my artistic integrity for the tech elites.

A painting may truly never be finished. But you should never sacrifice its quality to get a post. Never rush art.

A Night in Symi Painting Available

Hello everyone, γειά σας! This painting took me ages to finish. The “A Night in Symi painting” is inspired by a wonderful Greek island called Symi. While painting, I continuously discovered improvements to make. It kept going, and going, and going. I still don’t think it’s truly finished, but I’ve got to move on.

Me painting “A Night in Symi”

Arriving in the port of Γιαλός in Symi, you see so many traditional stone houses, colorfully painted.

Bright ochres, indigos, and terracotta, with red-tiled roofs and little balconies. It’s truly a fairytale island

Throughout the canvas, we have the energy of the nightlife. People are out dining walking here and there, having conversations under a full moon.

There are so many bright reflections on the calm sea. Warm tones of yellow, pink, orange and gold. A sharp contrast with the cool dark backdrop of the slopes of Γιαλός.

Almost every color of the spectrum has been used in the “A Night in Symi painting”. I incorporated loose brushstrokes and countless layers of thick paint. This allows light to enter the paint film and illuminate the image

Live Painting in Santorini Finished, Sale & Commission!

Καλό Μήνα! Happy September! I just finished a new work that is from a wedding live painting event in Santorini for a couple from the US. I feel like I grew a lot from doing this piece and my style and techniques are evolving. This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever worked.

To celebrate, I’m offering FREE SHIPPING on all my artwork under €1200!

Use Code: FREESHIP

My Painting from 2020 Sold

I’m also excited to announce that I’ve recently sold my painting “Two Cypresses with Wildflowers in Aegina” which is shown below. A local person from Aegina bought it. She saw my work from my current exhibition in Aegina Town at Rico Blings shop. This is the first time I’ve sold an original here in Greece and the first time that I’ve sold from a live exhibition. We’re very happy about that! They will be gifting this piece to a family member who is getting married.

Up Next: Commissioned Painting

I’ve accepted an offer to make a custom painting for a lady in Aegina—the same person who bought the Cypress painting. She asked me to make something depicting the the port of Aegina.

Are you interested hiring me to make you a custom painting or live painting in Santorini or another place? Send me a request using the button below and we can discuss the details!

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day! - Zac
